How To Use Organic Argan Oil For Natural Skin Care

For many centuries Morrocan women have kept a beauty secret that the rest of the world discovered only lately. Pure organic argan oil which comes from the argan tree, a tree that grows in south western Morocco, is renowned for its anti-aging and nourishing properties.

Organic argan oil is great for natural skin and hair care. For hundreds of years, Berber women in Morocco have used this miracle oil to moisturize, nourish and soften their skin, hair and nails. This precious oil is valued so highly that people call it “liquid gold”.

When applied on the skin, argan oil helps to soften the skin and dramatically reduce wrinkles. Pure argan oil is rich in Vitamins A and E that nourish and revitalize the skin. It also contains amino acids that tighten the skin and improve its elasticity.

Moroccan women use the oil to help prevent stretch marks produced by pregnancy and drastic weight variations.

You Won’t Find A Better Skin Moisturizer

As a natural skin moisturizer, argan oil is far more effective than olive oil and shea butter. It is high in fatty acids but contains no cholesterol that might leave an oily residue on the skin. The amazing thing about argan oil is that it balances both dry and oily skin by regulating the skin’s natural oil production, hydrating the skin, and reestablishing its ability to lock in moisture.

Argan Oil Is Great For Anti-Aging

Due to its high content of antioxidants and essential omega-6 fatty acids, argan oil fights free radicals that cause wrinkles and fine lines. This miracle oil also stimulates skin cell renewal and improves blood circulation so that the skin looks smoother, denser, and more radiant.

Raw, unprocessed argan oil is one of the richest sources of Vitamin E found in nature. It also contains squalene, phytosterols and phenols that work together to combat premature skin aging. These powerful antioxidants fight the damaging effects of stress, pollution, smoking and free radicals on the skin.

The Skin Care Solution For All Skin Types

Moroccan argan oil has been used for centuries to treat different skin disorders. By balancing sebum production in the skin, argan oil helps clear acne and skin blemishes. The oil also provides relief for psoriasis and eczema, thanks to its anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties. It is safe to use on sensitive skin, including babies’ skin.

Benefits Of Organic Argan Oil

For cosmetic purposes and as treatment for skin diseases, argan oil is best when used in its raw, organic form. Cold-pressed argan oil extracted from the unprocessed kernels of the Argania spinosa tree retains the highest concentration of antioxidants, phenols and essential fatty acids, as well as the oil’s anti-microbial properties. It provides the following benefits:

  • Moisturizes dry, rough skin
  • Reduces blemishes, fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improves skin elasticity
  • Stimulates skin regeneration, combats harmful free radicals, and prevents premature skin aging
  • Soothes skin inflammation and irritation
  • Helps reduce visible scars left by acne or chicken pox
  • Helps prevent and reduce the appearance of stretch marks

Argan oil is also a great hair care tool. If your hair lacks shine and tends to get frizzy, try applying a bit of the oil to the ends while it’s still damp and then style as usual. The results will have you coming back for more!

  1. I have seen a couple of sites claiming that if you use Argan oil with other ingredients that it degrades it and makes it less effective. So if I add essential oils or other oils to it I am ruining it. I cannot find any studies to support this and was wondering if you had any information on this.

There is so much information and disinformation about Argan oil it’s confusing. There are products that are Certified Organic that are more expensive yet I found that the Trees are grown without fertilizers or pesticides regardless if they are certified organic or not. That getting Pure Argan is the most important factor. I would appreciate any information you can give me.

    • Hi Erica, I’m not completely sure about whether argan oil could degrade other ingredients… but will definitely check into that, thanks for bringing it up.

I’ve never actually mixed it in with anything to use at a later time. What I do is this… for my hair sometimes I will take a drop or 2 and mix with hair styling lotion, gel, etc. in my hands just before applying to my hair. I’ve also used it as a light serum on my face just before using a cream. This doesn’t cause any issues at all.

As for pure vs. organic… here’s my take on it. The main thing is that what you use is pure — looking for certified organic just makes it easy to determine if something is pure. Something could be pure and completely safe but not “certified” which means you’ll have to do your research to make sure it’s the best possible product and up to your standards.
